Can anyone reccomend a good website for learning to count?

Question

My son is learning to count and recognise numbers. I have found excellent websites for learning to read, but have drawn a blank for sites which tackle this early stage of maths. There are plenty for slightly later on. Any suggestions? (He is not interested in worksheets, so online games only please - thanks)

Work with him in person. Don't rely on web sites to teach him to count or read. Using your hands is better, IMHO, than anything else. You can do basic math (up to 5+5) with him. Plus, being involved personally with his education is going to be the best gift you could give him. :-)

Who needs a website when you have fingers and toes? - Having said that, my son, now 18 and a budding nanotechnoligist, was the world's greatest fan (along with his mum) of Sesame Street) over here in England in the early 90s. The tradition continues. Common-sense parental input works wonders if no frogs, bears, pigs, Big Birds or Elmos are at hand. Forget the s...... internet.

The Sesame Street website is brilliant for very young kids. I have done chidlminding and this is the site that had the kids mesmerised, they don't realise they are learning, they just think it's great fun. And of course it's interactive as you will be doing it with him. Good luck!
