how much force is needed to break the femur bone? A 5 year old child has broken their femur bone by falling off of the sofa. does this sound plausable?

not me idiot, my nephew broke it yesturday, he lives in utah. i just thought it was weird because it just didnt sound right.

Honestly, that does sound a bit strange. Kids tend to have much more pliable bones than adults, and a fall from a couch doesnt sound that traumatic. If we were talking about an 80 year old who fell from a couch and broke their femur, that wouldnt be at all surprising, but it sounds as though there might be more to the story.

Sure. I broke my collar bone at that age by rolling off of the bed.

only about 20 lbs of force when applied correctly, it's very possible, but why does it have to be if it's true, it sounds like you're abusing your 5 year old
