Admittedly, he was trying to work and I was distracting him, and he said something careless to me and didn't even notice that he was behaving inappropriately. Knowing my man, he is never going to apologize and probably won't even remember the fault. I am about to either blow up or use the silent treatment on him. Do either of them work? What on earth should I do? Please give some advice. Thanks!

It sounds like what you're really doing is debating what sort of temper tantrum will best get his attention and make him feel like sludge for making a remark that you admit was simply careless and not intended to hurt.

If you haven't noticed, a lot of guys aren't real good at multitasking. They want to focus on what they are doing at the moment and only that. Life is a bunch of boxes. There's the work box, the football box, the hang out with your girlfriend box, and at least ten for sex. They get stressed when they have to open more than one at a time. It's the mental equivalent of a mess.

I can identify because I had a boyfriend who made a point of nagging for attention whenever I was in the middle of something. Talk to your guy about when he wants to work and when he wants to spend time with you and when it's work time, leave him alone.

Well being a man I know what it is like to be distracted. On the other hand, I think that maybe you are overreacting to this situation. I don't know if this is the case, but a refusal to appologize should be grounds to reevaluate your relationship. I know chivalry is dead, but you need some respect and some love because you seem to need attention, so let the hardworking man find someone else that he can ignore. You deserve the best that life offers, and according to me, you are not having a relationship if the silent treatment is one of your options. Speak and let your voice be heard!

Take a bar of soap and right in huge letters, on his car, "I AM AN IDIOT."

That way he will ask you about it. That's when you should tell him.
