hells kitchen is on the westside of midtown- between the 30's and the 50's. it used to be a bad neighborhood way back in the day, alot of gansters and organized crime which is why it go its name. the area is gentrifying and real estate gurus try to call it "clinton" to make it sound better.

greenwich village is also on the westside but more downtown between houston and 14th streets.

Hell's Kitchen is a neighborhood in Midtown Manhattan. It is not even close to being a ghetto. It has a very shady past but Hell's Kitchen these days is very developed. Greenwich Village is in the western part of downtown Manhattan. It's named after Greenwich, London.
