Tsk. You should really do your homework...but I've been in this situation before, so I'll help you out.

The cardiovascular system circulates your blood providing oxygen and nutrients to your body's tissues and eliminating the waste products of cellular metabolism. Fluid can escape from the blood stream into the body's tissues due to the effect of hydrostatic forces and oncotic pressure (protein and solutes in the tissues draw fluid out of the vessels). It is the job of the lymphatic system to pick up this excess fluid and return it to the blood stream. Without the lymphatic system, your body tissues would swell with fluid that would not get reabsorbed into your blood stream. The two systems work in tandem to keep body tissues perfused, supplied with nutrients, provide a conduit for return and elimination of cellular waste products, and keep body fluid in the vascular system where it belongs. They also provide immune function to keep body homeostasis. The cardiovascular system circulates white blood cells which are the immune system cells that help fight infections. The lymph nodes in the lymph system acts to "screen" molecules and organisms in the lymph fluid for toxicity and activate the immune system in response to any foreign invaders or toxic compounds.

Hope this helps. Now do your homework from now on.
