am Eighteen years of age and am so demotivated you will find it difficult to believe. I have the opportunity to go on my first date with a girl but I am Gay and therefore am hesitant. I am so demotivated and therefore lazy...I care little about my Jan A level exams and am basically still at sixth form for the company....I love a great game of Poker and play often but other than that I am a drunken old or young fool when it comes to the world of school. I am not a chava and never have or will be one but lately I have become so distached from Sixth form...Part of it is I really fancy a boy at school and have had the whole is he gay or not thing and now I am not even bothered about him so much...I drink a lot but do not go out and therefore not only do I drink in excess I drink unsocially which I realise as a half educated guy I am taking more than a few steps to becoming an alcoholic or "heavy drinker"...I used to care about wealth and power but lately I am not bothered. This is wrong!

Yeah, at your age you need to get a little help. I'm gay and know it's hard but you gotta get a grip!! You will wake up someday like me and wish you had done something especially about education or you will end up mopping floors like me! Good luck buddy!

You are experiencing low level depression. This may sound like a crock but trot yourself to the nearest tanning bed and have a few sessions.
No, silly, not for the tan but for the sunlight exposure. Don't attempt to bake yourself, just try to get the warmth and do some meditating while you're in it.
Tell yourself that this too shall pass and that you are only being like a bear who hibernates in the winter.
Don't let it get to you too much. Your joy and motivation will come back, believe me.
Enjoy the quiet time and take it for what it is because when the Spring comes and the sunlight wakes every living thing up again, you'll spring back to life as well.
Good luck.
Hey, it happens to a LOT of us......more than people want to admit.

And to BIG T...Never sell yourself short. You are not a floor mopper....THAT is only what you're doing at the present moment. Believe in yourself and the world will support you.
Good luck to you too.

What is right with the world ? You are just at a stage in your life, you'll pass through this one soon enough and move into other situations that will make your present one seem like nothing. University life will bring about another slant to life and your future. Things generally even themselves out once you hit your early to mid thirties.
