I have recently found out that i am an orphan. I accedently eavesdroped on my mom and dad's cell phone conversation when i picked up the phone, and now i don't know what to do. I wish that I had someone to talk to, but you couldn't catch me DEAD telling my mom and dad that i had eaves dropped on them, and heared them say what they said. In addition to that, I was adopted from china, and to top it all off, we are moving to Japan (we live in the USA). please, help, suggesions, please.

WELL I THINK THEY MUST REALLY LOVE YOU VERY MUCH. TO ADOPT A CHILD IS A GIFT. WHEN THEY ARE READY THEY WILL TELL YOU, MOST PEOPLE WHO ADOPT WAIT FOR THE RIGHT TIME. EITHER GIVE IT SOME TIME, OR JUST SAY SOMETHING LIKE" I HAD A DREAM I HAD DIFFERENT PARENTS, WHY WOULD I DREAM SOMETHING LIKE THAT"? SEE WHAT THEY SAY.. GOOD LUCK!

Your parents are probably sh.. scared of telling you. All parents would be, they are only human.
You should sit them down and say: mom, dad I know there is a family secret, by chance I have found out.I think I should give you two the opportunity to tell me. I trust you were going to tell me one day but did not find the best time. The best time is now, so out with it.

Give them a chance, they are probably very scared that you will not love them anymore. Thats what keeps most parents from telling their children the truth.
If you want to keep a good relationship with them then give them the chance and you need to hear it from them to. The story is a part of your life and you should hear it from the people who witnessed the whole thing.
I am not sure why you mentioned that you were adopted in china and now are going to japan. You are the child of your parents, and it does not matter where you were born or what you look like. What matters is the love and education your parents have given you.

If your parents were good to you be good to them, take the pressure off of their sholders.

Good luck and enjoye Japan its great.

You really should just come right out and ask them about it. This is something you really need to know about. Maybe they knew you were eaves dropping and that is why they said all of it. To scare the hell out of you and teach you a lesson.. Especially eaves dropping this close to Christmas. I'd bet they are messing with your head.

Being an orphan means that your parents are dead. You clearly have a mom and a dad, since you overheard them talking. What exactly is the problem...?

Maybe they had their reasons, they could have been waiting to tell you when you got a little older, I was waiting to tell my daughter too, but she found out at the age of 9. Good luck with your up coming move.

wow that's tough to handle!even though i know you feel telling your parents would be the worst thing to do you should tell them. You cant hold all that in and keep it to your self. sooner or later you are bound to just break down. I am sure they will understand.

so, bring it up to them some other way. say, you don't think you look like them, or that you like different things or something. how old are you? they should end up telling you this.
