My wife is from Mexico. Excluding my wife and a select few, but it very well seems that most everybody from Mexico are fat as well.

Hell, you should see some of the things they eat. Most of the diet it made up of fatty foods, especially the dam meat, its only fat, where is the meat. and the cookies in the Mexican store, they don’t have this 99% and 0 Trans fat business. In fact you will not see a dam thing in the Mexican store that states 99% fat free or 0 Trans fat.

Most of the developed countries and now a large number of developing countries have large numbers of obese people. Peru, Tunisia,Colombia,Brazil, Costa Rica, Cuba, Morocco, Chile, Mexico, Togo, Zimbabwe, and Ghana are some of the developing countries that also have a large number of obese people. It has a little to do with the fatty foods, but it has more to do with the lack of exercise and whole, unprocessed foods in their diets. Think about it. Most people do not have the time or energy to make their meals from scratch these days. Because of this, they turn to fast food and processed foods.

In Mexico almost everything is cooked in lard so of course they will tend to be obese. In the US kids often sit in front of the TV or computer all day instead of getting some form of physical activity. Having dealth with obesity for years because of emotional abuse at the hands of my parents I make sure to get my son out of the house for at least 30 minutes - 1 hour everyday...even in the rain (He's 2 and loves mud puddles). I don't want my son to end up having to deal with diabetes like I did before having weight loss surgery.

Canada. Something like 1/5 of people are now considered "obese". Mind you, the studies are including with people who may be only a pound "overweight". So, for huge people who you may think of when you here "obese" may only be like, 1/30.

I don't believe obesity is a nationwide problem that everyone should be jumping up to tackle, but that's another issue.

China has a rise in obesity as well.
