You most likely have the flu rather than a cold. The flu causes muscle pains and body aches. Try Tylenol or Advil to help with the pain.

because your back can hurt the same as your chest if you have a lot of chest congestion. your lungs are in the middle of your chest, so if your cold is severe enough, your chest and back will both hurt.
