They are costing legal citizens tons of money, they don't pay taxes, they take up job opportunities, they refuse to learn English, they are breaking the law...this could go on for a long time. What benefits do you see in these illegal aliens coming to the US?

The problem with support for illegal alien's is that those supporters do not see them as violating or breaking the laws. If any American was to do the same lawlessness in another nation; we would be more then slapped around and no bleeding hearts would give a drop of their blood to help.. an AMERICAN mind you. I feel if the Anti American bleeding heart lib; that continuously bashes this great nation; should be smacked upside the head. I would offer all the whip to slap them with.

None. Assimilation has been a problem and nobody is telling them they cannot speak their native language either. \English is the "Business language" of all successful countries. If Americans (including legal immigrants) would simply go to the following websites and inform themselves, maybe they would change their minds and positions on this invasion.
If they knew why the Sierra Club and ACLU are so hellbent on the issue, they would be faxing, emailing, calling their Congress and Senate and urging local government to get off the can. This is socialist/communism breathing down our necks and that has never been good for anybody!

The Sierra Club wants to teach greedy Americans what over population does when there is no birth control, the stresses on the environment and economy as they go to the golf course and stuff their bank accounts. The ACLU just wants a Communist dictatorship, using our democracy with more and more laws and government they are not liberal nor are they for legitimate Civil rights or women's rights!

I guess I am one of those annoying bleeding heart liberals that you want to smack, LOL.

Ok, I am going to answer your question first on each point you made, then with my thoughts.
In what way are they costing legal citizens money? In a study done on Arizona alone, (done by a non-biased organization - Thunderbird - the American Graduate School of International Management) on the immigrants (both legal and illegal - and only accounting for the Mexican immigrants, not immigrants from other countries) nearly $600 million in federal and sales taxes were paid in 2002... Mexican immigrants use about $250 million in social services such as Medicaid and food stamps. Another $31 million in uncompensated health care....that leaves a profit of $319 million. And that was just the Mexican immigrants in Arizona. Multiply that by so many other immigrants from other countries, by 49 other states, and see how much is made in the United States. That doesn't count for what they spent in rent/mortgage, the fees that they paid to bank and financial institutions when they sent money to their homeland.

A majority do pay taxes as well. They pay sales tax. The pay renters tax. When they work they have taxes taken out of their paycheck. Their is a program via the IRS wehre they can get an ITIN number (aka w-7) which is a number they use to file their taxes, and alot of people who are here legally are doing so.

The job opportunities that they take are not filled - which mean that they are open. If someone wanted the job, then they would have to fill out an application, and then the person best for the job is picked.

As for learning English, alot do speak English but feel uncomfortable doing so for fear of being made fun of if they make a mistake etc. etc. I do agree that a larger number could make a stronger effort, and take more classes. But you also have to remember that English is one of the harder languages to learn do to all of the nuances of the language, and it takes a while. A while meaning more than 30 days, or 1 class. I am in the process of getting my certification to be able to teach English as a second language to people around here whose work schedules do not allow them to take normal english classes.

As for breaking the law - yes by coming here illegally they are breaking the law. As are so many others that are here legally, AND who are citizens. As laws go, to me (and I am sure you feel differently) breaking the law by crossing the border is not that big of a law breaker - like speeding, that is breaking the law, but not that big. Killing someone is a big law breaker.

I think that the people who are here illegally, most of them - not all - are here to better themselves and their families. they are trying to make a better life for their children, just like so many parents here do. They contribute to this society, to this economy as well.

As long as they intend to eventually become citizens (I know the process takes a while, but far less than half of the illegals have even attempted to become legal), and they keep their noses clean, then I actually don't have any problem with them being here.

It's when they come here to cause trouble that I have a problem with it. And unfortunately, way too many of them do come here to cause trouble (as evidenced by the fact that nearly 1/3 of California prisoners are illegals).

The benefited are naturally the company owners that hire them.
The economy of the country is benefited as well because there are lower costs of production. None of the aliens get any benefits of the government so no money is spend.

The less qualified locals are affected because they have to compete with them for jobs.

Among the immigrants there must be decent people who wants to work, and people who wants to rob etc. but IMHO the honest people outnumber the others in a range from 20 to 1.

If they don't learn English is probably because they don't earn enough money and don't have the time (after the long working hours they're forced to) to attend a course not because their lack of interest.

Actually many illegal immigrants do pay taxes - over 7 billion a year is put into our government from illegals. There are no American citizens who cannot get a job if they put the effort into it - its just that most of them want higher wages and don't want to work in agriculture and fast food, which Mexicans don't mind. Many of them do try to learn English, and there are many legal immigrants who don't know it either.

Check out your history books - we conquered their land. They may feel they don't need to respect our borders. Our economy would be in a lot worse situation if we got rid of all the illegal workers. They want opportunities for their kids who have no opportunity in Mexico because they have such a crappy education system.

I don't think there should be illegal immigrants, but I think we need to have more lax immigration laws and treat all human beings regardless of citizenship with basic respect. Also people need to not stereotype all Latino citizens as being illegal. Surely if we can pump a trillion dollars to help the Iraqi people, than we should be more willing to help our neighbors to the south.

how can you say they don't pay taxes if they buy food and pay taxes, clothes taxes,a car taxes when they buy it and in the gas, and for the job opportunities you mean construction or in a fast food place how can you say that, other thing is some persons are lazy and just wait for a job to ask them is they want to work, and i think that is your case

The supporters I have seen on here are either in romantic relationships or married to illegals or else they benefit by employing them. That is, for the most part, all of the illegal supporters I have seen on this forum. If you go back through their questions and answers, it will usually come out that they are either in love with one or they like to hire them and benefit from the cheap slave labor.

Most people are against illegal immigrants,it seems like alot of people on this forum are for it but alot of them are illegal immigrants or just people that dont know the facts, the fact is that the only comeback an illegal has if they dont like something a anti illegal says is that we are racist, but the antis on this forum have listed a billion dollars of reasons why our economy cannot or does not need them.

I know what you mean. I'm 16 and it's hard for me to get a starting job because of all the immigrants. I'm not racist or anything, but if you're not going to learn English or come here legally, get the eff out. Getting sick of it.
