I know it is the "Islamic Holy Book": Muslims believe it is the word of the same God as Christians and Jews, but I am asking Christians: did God really give this book to Mohammed? If not, where did Mohammed get this from?

Modern Jesus: why do you say the Bible says Mohammed was a drunk? Where does it mention this in the Bible? I don't think it does as the Bible completed over 500 years before Mohammed lived.

Pixiefeet: if the Qu'ran is Mohammed's conversations with a CHRISTIAN God, why does it specifically state that Jesus was not crucified?

Another book written about the same supposed God, since it's formed from the Abrahamic root of religion.

It is the Islamic holy book, but it's more. Jesus is written about in the Q'uran as well, he too was a prophet, there was not just mohammed. It is however interesting to contrast this to the bible where mohammed was reputed to be a nutter and a drunk.

They share similar stories among parts, including of The garden of eden (as does Judaism, Genesis was taken from the Tanakh - part of the Torah (Jewish holy book)).

The Holy Quran is a book Muslims believe to be a revelation from God (Allah in Arabic). Quran is an Arabic word meaning "The Read, The Recited". It’s believed to be the fourth and last book revealed from Allah (God) on His last Prophet, Mohammad (Peace Be upon Him). Before this, Muslims believe, Torah, Zabore, and Bible have been revealed. Quran is the word of Allah and gives the basic principles of Islam. These are explained under the sayings of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) known as Hadith.

Some clarifications:
1. Quran (or Islam or Muslims) doesn't claim any of the religions to be false, Muslims say, 'We believe on whatever WAS (in the original form) revealed on you (followers of other religions)'.

2. Quran says that any religion revealed by Allah before Quran has been cancelled and replaced by this one and there would be no more religion from this on.

3. Previous religious texts like Bible foretell about the Prophet Hood of the last prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the last revelation.

It is a book, or writings that are set up against Christ and against the knowledge of Christ.

It's design is to deceive and it's effect is to deny and take away from Christ. As such it has been very successful.

It pretends to acknowledge Christ, as many religions do, but for the purpose of denying Him His true glory.

It is one of those strongholds, described as imaginations and a high thing, that exalts itself against the knowledge of God and that can only be pulled down through God who can bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10/4-5

Many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God. Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God.
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God and this is that spirit of antichrist whereof ye have heard that it should come and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4

The Qu'ran denies Christ and so is of the spirit of antichrist.

It is the Muslims Holy Book, purported to be authored by Mohhamed, either in whole or in part, I am not sure. A few texts from the Bible have found their way in there.

Quran is the sacred Book of Muslims and the Last word of God revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings be upon him).
The Qur’an is a miracle. For Muslims, the authenticity of the Qur’an as the word of God is beyond any doubt. It urges man to look around him, into God’s creation and into himself; there he will perceive how creation is perfected in a total harmony.
God says in Quran:
“Behold, it is we ourselves who has bestowed from on high, step by step, this reminder: and behold, it is we who shall truly guard it (from all corruption).” (15:9)

It is the life and times of Muhammad. No more no less.

OK, Ok. It is the life and time of Muhammad's advice.

OK, Ok. It is the life and time of Muhammad's advice, after he married an older woman, who just happened to be very rich.

OK, Ok. The second half of the Koran (qu'ran, whatever) is the life and time of Muhammad's advice, after he was kicked out of Mecca, and when he became very bitter and started preaching that stuff about killing anyone who didn't worship Allah (His God) directly, and Muhammad indirectly. Or was it the other way around? Worship Muhammad directly and God indirectly.

Well now, you asked about the Koran. But what you might have wondered about was "Why do all those Muslims hate us so much?

Well, only the splinter groups of Muslims use the 2nd part of the Koran as an excuse to convince people to "suicide bomb our butts"
