I am tired of shaving and more importantly...those tiny little irritating bumps around my bikini area. I wan't to get bikini ready for next Summer. Any watchouts or advice on laser hair removal? Is it truely permenant? Does it leave scarring or age skin? I currently shave all of my bikini area and I like the way it feels and look, but I don't know if I want to be old and hairless one day...will that be wierd...thoughts?

Laser hair removal is not truly permanent. You will need several treatments, according to what your hair type and color are. Eventually, it will start to lightly grow back in, but it will be very sparse. It does not age the skin, but if the laser is too strong, it can scar.
Make sure you either get a recommendation from your dermatologist, or do some internet research on where you want to go. Good Luck.

As far as the laser is concerned, I would be a little wary. Laser and electrolysis are very expensive, require multiple treatments depending on the color and texture of the hair (bikini area would definitely require multiples) and can cause skin aging, redness, scarring, and discolorations of the flesh. I have heard of one system that only costs about $100, and has worked very well for a few of my friends. I'll add the link under sources.
As far as being totally bare down there, I wouldn't be comfy when I got older. My suggestion would be to get the entire bikini line done but leave a comfortable "landing strip." That's what I'm getting done. When you get older, you won't have to deal with that uncomfortable, almost unhygienic, feeling, but will leave enough to make you feel natural.

Hope I helped!

Laser hair removal is truly permanent for the follicles that are destroyed. The hair in the area treated can grow later when inactive follicles become active or if hormonal changes alter hair growth.

The bikini area is a great area to treat because of the coarseness of the hairs, the relative surface location of the follicles and because more often than not bikini hairs are darker in color. It does not age the skin.

My wife did her bikini area 5 years ago and the results have been great. You will need 5-6 treatments to make sure you treat all of the follicles during their growth phase. I have attached a website that has a number of national providers and ranks them according to customer satisfaction surveys from previous clients.

Laser hair removal is “permanent” hair removal method but is expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
