the short version: My 16 year old b/f and I dated for 3 months and we were crazy about each other. We talked for hours every day. Then his Dad got cancer and he stopped calling. I tried different things from giving him lots of space, to asking about the relationship (I had to ask....I couldn't go on like we were forever). He decided he wanted a "break" in the relationship because of all the stress he was under. I gave him lots of space and didn't talk to him at all for two weeks. Then he broke up with me. I think we would have lasted a long time if it had not been for his Dad's cancer. I have heard now that he likes another girl (a week after he broke up with me) Do you think I am a reminder of his dad's cancer and that is why he broke up with me? Is there any hope that he will ever want to get back with me?

His dad did have cancer. I am good friends with his dad and he had to have his eye removed because of it.

YOU NEVER KNOW. NO ONE CAN ANSWER FOR HIM. BUT YET YALL ARE YOUNG, SO BOYS AND GIRLS ARE GOING IN AND OUT OF RELATIONSHIPS FOR A LONG TIME. YOU JUST LEARN FROM THEM. DONT TAKE THEM TO SERIOUS AND DONT DO NOTHING EXTREME CUZ SWEETY IT WONT LAST. AND ANOTHER THING MOST BOYS JUST WANT ONE THING WELL NOT ONLY BOYS BUT GUYS. STILL. I don't know. I'm sure he has gone through a lot. Sometimes a person just can't handle a relationship and everything else in life too. And as for the new girl.... sometimes a change of scene is what we need to help us heal. I'm sorry for your loss though.

No, his dad probably never had cancer. Sounds as if he used it as a made up excuse because he did not want to tell you it was over.

i would say ther is no hope. If he already likes another girl, he is not thinking about you. I know this is not what you want to hear, but i've been there before. You are both young and there will me more guys you can be crazy about.

probably not , he might have used his dad as an excuse, you should move on. boys at that age get bored really easy for some reason.

he was looking for a out, its not your fault.. i wouldnt take him back you seem like a great person and ur still young.. he wasnt the one move on, hes out there waiting for you dont put ur life on hold for him
