Oil

2006-12-09 07:22:03 · answer #1 · answered by Sheik Yerbouti 2 · 0 1

Iraq did not threaten the stability of the rest of the world. If any country did, it was the United States. Look where we are now. A lie about WMD's; Saddam, looking like he is certainly being well taken care of despite his convictions; U.S. troops being killed everyday, the death toll nearing 3,000; sectarian violence all over Iraq; innocents dying by the hundreds every week; a new more deadly roadside bomb designed to take out US troops now being used in Baghdad and working;Bush looking more and more like an idiot re his handling of this "war", and of course it was all about oil. But it was also about the U.S. having to flex its mighty military and weapons. Shock and awe they called it. And it did it shock. And did it provide a sense of awe.

And now we all wait in the wings. Knowing that things cannot continue as they have. We remain vigilant even as there have been no domestic attacks since 911. We are still fearful. Now we have more enemies than ever before. The United States. The powerful. The free.
And because of the powerful United States, other countries not at all feared before, will develop nuclear arsenals......if they have not done so already.
But can you blame them?

There is no real reason known to the public why we invaded Iraq. Only the inside politicians know, like Nixon in the Vietnam War. We didn't know why we attacked Vietnam until the Pentagon Papers got leaked out. I'm pretty sure the only and primary reason was not to go after UMD's. North Korea has them and for half a century treats its people the same way Saddam has and have we done anything? It could be for establishment of Middle Eastern bases for military projection, or securing "stablity" in the region for keeping oil flow safe. It's all politics man. War is facilitated by greed. Our national interests come first. I highly doubt it is for any humanitarian reasons or WMD's. If it was, we'd have left it as fast as we left Somalia in 1993.

I am just going to address the nuclear weapons in our own
arsenal. Yes, we have 20,000 nukes. That's down from a
cold war high of 100,000.

The difference is we are not going to use them unless it is
absolutely necessary in a retaliatory fashion not as a first
strike. Can you say that for Iraq or Iran.

Iran has already said they would use WMD's against Israel.

Thank you very much, while you're up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because our government agencies were given false information about Iraq and WMDs. For every action there is an underlying reason for it. In this case, certain people in high positions understood that going to war will drive up the oil prices in turn making all those who had stock with the oil companies to make millions.

The Bush administration and his corporate cronies felt that it was a perfect time to invade and try to turn Iraq into a U.S. puppet capitalist nation. Multinational corporations have been licking their chops over that region for quite some time now. Salivating like a pitbull that hasn't eaten for about a week. Their only obstacles were dictators in the region. And the Bush administration decided to take action on behalf of those corporations that put him in power. You wouldn't believe the major conflicts of interest between politicians and corporations. It is the biggest threat to our republic.

Very simple. Israel wanted it done, and with it's nukes made it clear to USA and UK that if they didn't try to put down Iraq, and then Iran, Israel would do it, and thus launch WW III.
Read columns by Gwynne Dyer, Robert Fisk and Scott Taylor, especially the most recent from their websites. Saviing Israel is key to mideast and European safety.

You are correct to ask a question like that. North Korea has them, so does China. Let's face it. The USA will go down in history as making one big mistake over Iraq.

BECAUSE NUT CASES LIKE SADDAM WILL MORE THEN LIKELY USE THEM. AS HE HAD ALREADY DONE AGAINST THE KURDS AND IRAN. ALL THE MAJOR POWERS THOUGHT HE HAD THEM AND MOST LIKELY HE DID AT SOME POINT. SYRIA IS THE BEST GUESS AS TO WHERE THEY ARE AT NOW.
