I went to eight years of Catholic school.
The experience has made many differences in my life. The most important is being a lifelong Catholic Christian.
I do drink alcohol in moderation (just like Jesus did).
With love in Christ.

I HAD to go to a Catholic elementary school because at the age of four I knew already how to read and write and at that time only 6 year-old pupils were admitted to the first grade. So my parents HAD to send me to a Catholic school since they were the only ones who'd have accepted me at that age.
Once 9 (was in the 5th grade), I was supposed to do my First Communion, but I refused to do it because I never really believed the story Catholics were telling; too many unsolved questions were buzzing in my head, and the Catholic version wasn't good enough for me. No need to say that after my refusal I obviously had to switch to a non-religious school.
I never drink alcohol and I never smoked, didn't even try once; I have very strong values and a deep respect for every Faith and for every single human being. Studying History of Religions, Philosophy, and ancient civilizations has always been my favorite activity since I was 14, and it still is. I believe that having the right values doesn't depend on going to a catholic school or being a Christian. I know many non-religious people like me, as well as many Muslims and Jews who have great values although are not Christians.
So...No, the Catholic church hasn't made a difference in my life: my parents, my family and all those who love me, made a difference because they taught me the right values, and to respect everyone. Peace.

Yes I went to a catholic school. I drink once in 4-5 years or so. I am not really a fan of alcohol. But I know a few of my friends do drink. We all went to the same school.

Why would a catholic school affect whether you drink or not?
I went to catholic school and don't recall anything about alcohol being taught (for or against). Remember Jesus' first miracle was to produce alcohol and the Trappist monks of Belgium keep up His good works with their fantastic beer. Anti-alcohol is predominantly a protestant thing - and then pretty much restricted to Methodism and strange fundy American churches. (NB I'm not trying to equate Methodsim and strange fundy American churches - they just happen to share views on alcohol).

I went to Catholic although I am no longer a Catholic. I didn't drink alcohol back then because I was too young. Now I drink. The most noticeable memory I have of Catholic shool when it comes to belief is that the Bible was rarely used. It was replaced by man's writing and thoughts not the inspired words of the Bible.

Most of the kids at my Catholic school drank. Especially the ones in the anti-drug and anti-alchohal clubs.
I don't drink too often, or very much, but I don't have anything against it. I just don't like the taste or price of many alchohals, like beer or wine. Nothing to do with religion, which I don't have any more.

I was at a convent school, I now drink, smoke, do drugs in moderation, have sex with condoms with people I'm not going to marry, and have a great time. I don't think I would have questioned Christianity if I hadn't had the nun's intolerant views shoved down my neck..

I went to Catholic School and I feel that it helped me alot. I focused on my grades while my friends were out partying. As far as drinking...I'm a light social drinker.
