Actually, Christians DO follow the food laws of the OT. However, there are many people who deceive themselves in believing that they are Christian, who don't keep the laws of God. These people take Scriptures, such as Acts 10:15 and Mark 7:19, out of context in order to say that God's food laws have been changed or "done away."

Anyone who has done some research, can find that even modern medical science indicates that these foods to be bad for human health. Christians who trust in God's wisdom are just ahead of their time.

because most people think they were nailed to the cross- but if that is true then our savior told a lie -- Matt 5;17-19 . " for truly I say to you until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass away from the Law, until all is accomplished". Jesus changed the priesthood - He didn't do away with anything and also in prophecy of the future Kingdom it mentions Isaiah 66;17 "who eat swines flesh, detestable things, and mice shall come to an end altogether," declares the Lord. hummmmm....... think I would look into it more before I got a pork sandwich, besides did you know that a rattlesnake can bite a pig and it Will not kill it as a matter of fact pigs eat rattlers!!!!! and rabbits get worms in months with an r in them lobster is full of cholesterol... there is a reason He told us not to eat them He made us and knows what is best for us.... just read your Bible

We are no longer under the Mosaic law, but a Law of Grace. But, it is true, we would be better off if we followed those laws as well.

Hebrews 8:13
By calling this covenant "new," he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear.

Acts 10
9About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray. 10He became hungry and wanted something to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. 11He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. 13Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
14"Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied. "I have never eaten anything impure or unclean."

15The voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure that God has made clean."

16This happened three times, and immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.

1 Corinthians 6
12"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13"Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both.

We dont have to.

ALL OT laws were written by Moses, for the Jews to follow before Christ. Christians are not Jews, we dont live by Moses old laws, because Christ fulfilled the need of them. Its all in the Bible.
