The sun racing towards earth, or a materor or something And it will cause the earth it break apart or effect the gravitnal pull or something, So They end up building thousands of rockets at the south pole, They push the earth off its axis, It was an old movie, I think it was Black and White, Please Help

"When Worlds Collide"
Two planets orbiting one another are headed for Earth, one is set to collide with Earth and the second is predicted to take up an orbit more or less the same as Earth's orbit. The second planet is very similar to Earth, so large passanger rockets are created to allow people to go from Earth to the second planet - but only a handful of humanity will be able to escape Earth before the collision.
The story was originally a science fiction novel in two parts, "When Worlds Collide" and "After Worlds Collide", the second story was about how the survivors settled in on the new planet. I read them both when I was in high school.
