I am making baked mostecholli for christmas...what can i prepare the day ahead?

I usually crockpot the sauce for a few hours...i think i could do that first thing in the AM...but

Can i brown the meat the day before?

Can i cook the noodles the day before?

Can i mix the ricotta and eggs and cheese the day before?

You can prepare the whole dish the night before.Let it come to room temp. while ovens pre-heating and you're good to go.I always bake covered to keep moist and then add the top layer of cheese last 15 mins.or so uncovered.

You could make everything the day before then bake it the next day. You could even make it now and freeze it then thaw it and bake it on xmas.

you can do the whole kit and kaboodle the day before .. instead of topping it with the cheese that night, do it when you reheat.. add a bit of sauce and then top with your cheese.. reheat and viola
