Tell them you can go, but get different seats. Sit down and have a talk with them. Say i really think i am old enough to go to a concert by myself. I have been think about it for awhile ,and plus you guys really embarress me and i would like to go by myself. so please?

Tell them how you feel. They might make a compromise and just not take pics and always kissing you. Sometimes also it is nice to get off from the stage and being loved and kissed. I know i love to get off the stage and my dad sometimes congratulates me on how well i sung even tho i knew i didnt do so well. Sometimes if you know and feel like you didnt do well it is nice to know that someone enjoyed your performance. If you still would rather them not go then again talk to them about it. Maybe they will decide not to go. Good Luck on your concert and remember one thing, your parents love you and would never want to embarass you but sometimes cant help it.

You mean to tell us that your folks raised you with loving care, provided you obviously with music lessons which are not exactly cheap long enough for you spoiled brat to get to perform in a concert and now you have the nerve to deprive them of a little pleasure to see you amounted to something .
Sure, the kissing and hugging etc. at age 13 is uncomfortable. So what. Suck it up and be a good sport . Tell them ahead of time to cut it out .
You are one lucky fellow to have parents that love you to death .

You can't tell them they can't go. That would break their hearts. You could ask them to please not kiss you in front of everyone, but let them take all the pictures they want. They are proud of you and they love you very much. You should appreciate them a little more. You're lucky to have 2 wonderful, loving parents.

"....i'm getting older and i feel embarrassed when you guys come to my concerts and kiss me and take pictures of me....it wouldn't hurt my feelings if you guys stayed home for this concert....but if you have to come, could you please not kiss me and take my pic in front of everyone...."
....a good comprimise might be to let them come, but NO pics or kissing at the concert....or maybe let them take ONE pic....they can always give kisses and take pics either before or after the concert when you guys are at home

Your parents love you so much and are happy to see you growing and becoming your own person. Don't take that away from them, they would be absolutely crushed. Instead, let them know, gently, that at 13, it is not cool to be kissed and hugged in front of your peers. Ask them if they could please refrain.

Suck it up, Kid! And tell your parents in a really nice way that they embarass you when they kiss you in public. There's no way to get out of the pictures, though. We parents take all these pictures specifically to ruin the lives of our children.
