raw meat, go to meat department have them slice a nice roast into 1/4 inch slices, tell them it is for beef jerky

then u need

1/2 cup of liquid smoke ( look by soy sauce and taco sauces)

1/2 cup of brown sugar

3 cups of soy sauce

soak meat slices in that for about 30 min then arrange them on dehydrator shelves

this is out of a dehydrator recipe book that came with ours

No offense but these people don't know notin" Get a good LEAN!!! pc of meat (beef) Cut into strips Get Jhonny's french dip sauce ,soy sauce , Liquid smoke, Lawrys , pepper, mix together add water so its not too strong . Put strips of meat in sauce overnite , drain ,put in dehydrator, till dry but not brittle, I've made this for friends ,and they've ate the whole bag!!

You use raw meat.
Slice your jerky meat to the thickness you want.
You want to marinate it for at least 24 hours
