STEP 7: Stick the candy coating into the sauce pan and cook it on low to medium low heat just enough to melt it.

STEP 8: Once melted, take off the heat and let it sit for 15 to 30 seconds.

STEP 9: One at a time, using the tongs, pick a peanut butter ball up and dip it into the coating.

STEP 10: Hold the ball over the pan and let the excess coating drip off.

STEP 11: Place the ball back on the sheet of waxed paper and repeat the process until all balls are covered with chocolate.

STEP 12: Once done, let them stand until coating is firm.

STEP 13: Store tightly covered in the refrigerator.

Tips and warnings

Dont have to use tongs if you dont want to, but a spoon doesn't seem to work very well as it picks up too much chocolate and its hard to do step 10 (but you are welcome to try).
Too much powdered sugar will make the balls too dry and crumbly.
Too little powdered sugar and they won't be able to keep their shape.
Don't use Margarine, it doesn't make them taste as good.
When using the tongs to pick up the PB balls dont squeeze too hard or you will crush them.

I call em Jingle Balls!!!
You'll need:
3 cups creamy peanut butter
7-8 cups powdered sugar
2 cups softened butter
4 tsp vanilla
3 packages (12 oz) chocolate chips
6 tbsp parawax
Mix peanut butter, sugar, butter and vanilla together in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Melt chocolate chips w/ parawax over low heat. Make peanut butter mixture into balls about the size of a quarter. (It's best to work with small amounts of the mixture, keeping the rest refrigerated until you're ready to form and dip. The mixture gets gooey and messy very quickly.)
Using toothpicks or small forks, dip the balls into the chocolate. Set on wax paper and refrigerate.

Buckeyes

Ingredients

(1 servings)

2 c Crunchy peanut butter (gener ic works fine)
1 c Confectioners sugar
1/4 c Butter (at room temperature)

Instructions

Mix well, roll into small balls and dip in mixture of 6 oz chocolate chips (melted) and 1/4 stick of parafin. let stand on rack for chocolate to drip off and firm up. Alternatively, and lots quicker, pat peanut butter mixture into a buttered pan, and top with melted chocolate chips, mark into SMALL squares before chocolate gets totally firm. After standing overnight cut. These taste just like the Reese's cups, and keep well in an airtight cannister.

2. In a medium bowl, mix together the butter, peanut butter, confectioners' sugar and powdered milk until smooth. Mix in the cornflakes. Wet hands and roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls. Place them onto the prepared cookie sheet, cover and refrigerate overnight.
3. The next day, melt chocolate in a metal bowl over simmering water, stirring occasionally until smooth. Remove bowl from heat.
