I need to purchase NIV translation (in English) Bibles for a 13 year old girl and 14 year old boy. I would prefer to get Bibles that are geared toward their specific age group and gender. Any recommendations?

Just go to your local Christian bookstore and ask the nice older ladies there. They probably get this question all the time, or at least a version of it.

In the Mid west there are Mardel's. Go to the back and look for bibles in fluorescent colors or other non traditional covers. Look over the topics discussed and see which is better for your teens.

Bonus: they put the name on the Bible for free!

Below is a source to help you out, but a word of caution. I like having a reference Bible or a Parallel Bible. You can always supplement study material. Doing this will insure they keep the Bible for years to come and it will not be a novel sign of their youth.

Best wishes

I say that we need to stop coming out with "watered down" teenage versions of the bible. Give them the real deal, dont hide anything from them. Just get a regular NIV bible, dont get a bible with misquotations and errors just becuase tis geared toward youth.

Before buying a bible, you have to test it first. 1John3:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

See where it says ...not that Jesus Christ is come in flesh...., the flesh part is important. Not all Bibles have the flesh part. So if the Bible you wants to buy doesnt have the flesh part in, it means it was wrotten by the spirit of the anti-christ

I have only one recommendation when it comes to translations of the Holy Scriptures. It's the only advice I ever give.

"I recommend ANY VERSION *EXCEPT* the NIV"

Or, as I call it..."The Nearly Inspired Version"

My daughter's Bible is a NKJV and its really good! It is called "The Explorer's Bible" for kids. She really likes it. However she is 8 and this bible is for teens and pre teens- so sometimes it's harder for her to understand but its good for her because it is the actual bible.
