Tim Flock, Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Richard Petty, Cale Yarbough, and Darrell Waltrip.
Why??? Tim: he had 18 wins in one season in 1955,189 starts, 40 wins, 19 poles in his championship season, record still stands, finished in the top 10 - 6 of his first 8 years, championship's 1952 & 1955.
Sr.: 7 - time champion, won Daytona 500, 34 wins at Daytona, went from 27th to 1st place in 3 laps at Talledega, his last win! 76 wins, and raced in a time when Nascar had more control over the building and engineering aspects of racing! His 7 championships were earned in a time that was not as inspectful as of the 50"s and 60"s. The man simply knew how to drive any car he got in to.
Richard: 200 wins, 7 championships, I can't rank him 1st just because he has 200 wins which most people do. My reasons are there were not so many restrictions in Petty's early racing days! It was much easier to have an advantage in the early days of racing.
Cale: He was relentless, he was pursuant, never giving, never surrendering. Champion on and off the track, you either liked him or you didn't. I liked him.
Darrell: 3 - time champion, 3rd on all-time list i believe, funny, exciting, excitable, he'd only give an inch and he wouldn't expect you to ask for anything more!

1 David Pearson 2 Bill Elliott 3 Fireball Roberts 4 Fred Lorenzen 5 Richard Petty. A lot of Earnhardt fans will want him on the list, he was very good at drafting, but the other drivers epitomized smoothness and he had some problems in that area from time to time that usually ended with the car in front of him in the wall.
