any eqipment,any electrical ayastem designed to work in room temperature,batteries are consist of chemical substances reacts with each other inside to generate electrical power,when temperature became lower than room temperature this reaction reduced then the output power became lower,but you will not recognize this difference by using them in radio or any other electrical system.
