You didn't mention your age, This happens to me sometimes. I go upstairs and forget what I was going up for or forget the first names of people. I think it is part of the aging process.
You may be stressed without realizing it. (subconscientiously) If it makes you feel more comfortable consult your physician.
A little suggestion if you have the time try to play matching games. Match one card to where you think the other may be.
May sound silly but if you have a pc mylittlepony.com has matching cards games helps to stimulate the memory.

Every morning when you get up take some time for yourself whether you have to get up ten minutes earlier or not and relax by sitting in a quiet place and just letting your mind go blank, don't think about work, or what you're doing for t he weekend. Inhale and exhale in a constant rythm. Or you could even do this at night before you go to sleep, to relax your mind and body.

Take a vacation. You just have other things on your mind that you are thinking of. Besides, if you're a cook isn't there a little note thing on the thingy in the kitchen that says what you need to cook?

Me too, take lots of rest, don't smoke, don't drink, don't masturbate to often, intake lots of protein, and eat lots of nuts like walnuts or cashew nuts, maybe to high cholesterol. And do you always have headaches? if so it may be an early stage of Alzheimer, go and get a check up. I did!

Maybe you are just stressed or preoccupied. But go talk to a counselor it bothers you. Surely they'll lead you in the right direction.
