It's very indicative that a large number of christians are abjectly superstitious about things other than god.
It shows that these are the type of people who believe in things just because others tell them to believe in them, and don't think for themselves. I've never seen a witch fly on TV. How can they seriously believe in all this? Yet they do. And they believe in god too.

It seems that some people here think that I'm chastising christians for believing in these thing.
This not so! I'm trying to show that superstitious people also believe in god, and using this argument, I'm trying to show that even god is a superstition. Ok? Is this clear now?

I have a group of friends who are very heavy duty Christians. They are also highly intelligent adults. About six months ago we were talking and I made a joke about ghosts. I was stunned to find out that they all believed in them.
I was speechless ...

Why wouldn't Christians not believe in spirits and the demonic world? There is a battle that we cannot see. A battle between good and evil. And they are NOT equally opposing forces as some would believe. The days of evil are numbered and Christ will defeat satan and his followers.
I don't believe witches fly, but they are influenced by denomic forces. Jesus rebuked denomic forces and cast out demons out of people. The supernatural that is experienced by witches, mediums and those that tamper with spirits are very real and anyone that plays with them do not know what they have gotten themselves into. It's a stronghold not to be taken lightly.

That is a completely ignorant statement.
Ghosts (the Holy Ghost, or spirit the Holy Spirit or the spirit of humans that lives on after death.)
witches...pagans or those who practice witchcraft.
These both exhist today. They are both in the Bible. Even supernatural stuff is in the bible. Fulfilled prophecy is "super-natural". You must be the "type of people" that doesn't really educate yourself on something before speaking on the topic. That is indicative of the "type" of person who believes what others tell them about a particular belief. A mind weak and subject to liberal media and influenced by pop culture.

I believe in ghosts because I've seen one when I was a little boy...but it does not affect my Catholic faith in any way....besides, does believing in ghosts and the supernatural mean you are not a religious person? I think not! After all, you could probably say that all the visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary are supernatural!

There are no ghosts in the sense of souls of the dead coming back... but there are manifestations that are called ghosts that are infact evil spirits.... and there are indeed witches. not as many as most believe thankfully but they can and do have contact with the forces of evil.... and supernatual is a valid word that covers much that is real... in that it refers to things out side of man's common understanding. Yet to things that do exist or occur

Dear Bhagwad,
You use some big words, that one is not clear on exactly what you mean. The english language is very diverse, and on the most part hard for some to understand; as well as myself.
One believes the key to your question lies in the words believes in, surely there are those that believe that witches...etc...etc...exist, but does one put their faith hope and trust in and rely wholly and totally on such a thing as a witch...etc...etc. I for one do not. So one supposes ones answer is yes, one believes those things exist but one does not believe in them.

The Bible talks about a enduring battle in the heavens taking place around us in the spiritual realm. References to devils, demons, principalities, powers, angels and even the Godhead fighting these battles are made.
For more information, do a yahoo or google search on principalities and powers bible.

You make a good point. I have seen a deceased friend in my home. I believe in God. I would not call me "superstitious", although when I get those stupid chain letter things it is hard for me to just delete.
