Its an honest question and I'm really wondering why any Christian would ever think that living your life in denial of what you are is the answer to anything.

Live your life in denial of being gay for example.

Or live your life in denial that you see ghosts and spirits.

Didn't anyone ever tell you that living your life in denial isn't healthy mentally?

And how do you know me at all to say that I am in denial of anything? You are personally insulting... Jim

Denial? That's a blanket that covers anything you want!
Because I choose to follow one set of morals does not mean that I actually deny any other. What I follow allows me the freedom to live without fear of ghosts, spirits, latent homosexuality,or an unstable and unhealthy mentality.
You speak of denying the truth. Well perhaps you can enlighten the Christians about "the truth" just exactly what is "the truth"?
I'm really not looking for a blanket answer! I'm looking for the truth, and I think that faith in the morals that God is trying so hard to teach us, is where the truth is to be found.Definitely not in denial.

Sometimes denying something is a defence mechanism. In your heart you know that it is true, but in your mind (reason) you think things out, and choose what is best for you and your situation. Some people are comfortable being gay, while others are not. As far as ghosts, Christians have to believe in ghosts (the trinity, father, son, holy ghost (spirit). As it goes for mentally, what about spiritually?

Christians don't deny. They abstain. It's a matter of choice, a personal freedom to choose or not (all humans have this).
If I were gay, and I'm not, but if I were, it would be foolish not to realize it, to deny it, but I still would have the choice to act on that knowledge (gay sex) or not.
I think, maybe, what you're trying to ask is, "Isn't it unhealthy to live an inhibited life and to deny yourself what or you want?" Basically that is the self-cenetered attitude that leads to crime: My needs and wants and desires are all that matter. It is also childlike, that is immature.
All of us living together in society must restrain ourselves in many ways, not just Christians. I may want to be rich and know that there is a considerable amount of money in a bank, and I can choose to plan a robbery and then try to carry it out. But I deny myself that action and that money for a number of reasons. that is, I choose not to do it, and a sensible choise it is!
As to ghosts and spirits, I've never seen any, and actually I would like to and would find them very interesting. But if I ever do see any, I won't have any need to deny the experience.

I know of some homosexuals who deal with this rather deny it.

The Bible never says deny, that's the human spin put on it.

Seeing ghosts and spirits, more like than not they are evil.

Rebuke them in the name of Jesus, see what the reaction will be.

I want to tell you. If a woman is being abused (or cheated on), she has every right to get a divorce. I think the Bible makes it clear.

Abuse is not only bad for her, but for her children (I'm sure cheating is the same). And I don't know exactly where it is, but I think the Bible says something about protecting your children.

Why not? It is easier that way.

Do you have a remote control for your TV? Of course you do. Why? Cause we are all basically lazy. Both in mind and spirit, and body.

Do you want to make some money? Find an easier way for people to go to Heaven. Don't worry very few will need any proof; just a promise will do.

Think not? Listen to some songs about how "we will do something in the future, the future, the future."

anonomous quote: "I can easily love the whole world, I just have trouble loving my noisy neighbors".

I don't live in denial, i have seen things that people call ghosts- but i know that they are evil spirits- i believe in Jesus and love Him, as for being gay- it is a sickness just like alcoholism or drugs, one does not have to deny that they are gay- they deny the flesh of it's desire to do the things it should not- do you think most Christians are pure? we struggle, but we love Jesus more than the flesh and are willing to give up the passing pleasures of sin for a life with Him!!!! Amen!!

I live my life denying that I'm an atheist. So what? The fact of the matter is, I really really wish there were a God, and so I will not admit that I'm an atheist.

In Thessalonians it says "they did not recieve the love of truth so as to be saved" all Christians love truth ans are changed by it

the world works really hard to suppress the knowledge of truth

So, you are assuming all christians are gays, and that they all see spirits

Being a liberal means you are living your life in denial, since you never wake up from that utopia of yours
