i think that everyone is responsable for ruining the earth ... but i know that there is hope ... not to bring earth as good as before but to make it better than it is now
1) decrease pollution on land, sea, and air,
2) increase plantation of plants and trees
3)distribute the earth's goods equally to all human beings so then everyone would have enough food to eat and clean water to drink

so let me point out the some of the crises we have:
1) 40% of the world's population faces water shortage
2) sea levels are rising due to global warming
3) 2.4% of the world's forests have been destroyed during the 1990s
4) every year 3,000,000 people die of pollution
5) 80% of the world's riches belong to only 20% of the population ... so the rest of the 80% of the population have to live with the 20% of the world's riches distributed amongst them

but ...

...some things are getting better. for example:
1) nature reserves and parks have expanded to 5% of total land mass in Europe and 11% in North Amarica
2) renewable energy has increased from 3.2% in 1971 to 4.5% in 1990
3) urban pollution is gradually being brought under control
4) access to safe drinking and sanitation has reduced child mortality from 3.3million in 1990 to 1.7million in 1999

eventhough i am not the person you addressed in your question i.e. Mr Gore i hope i have explained some things good enough

Yes there is hope for mankind, it is called the sustainability movement. We don't need to invent anything new we just need to start doing and thinking differently; we need to reaffirm our leaver ancestral roots.

Those responsible are the current dominate culture that started about 10000 years ago, they are the takers, defined by locking up food and propagandizing an acceptance that all humans are bad.

The point that Al Gore is trying to get across is that we are in the early stages of world-wide environmental crisis. And if we just sit around and not do anything, it is just going to get worse. And as for who has caused it, it's probably 60% the society's fault and 30% Environment's fault.

Yes, there is hope for the Earth and for our future. The answer is Space. We must become a Space Faring civilization as quickly as possible.

The answer to who is responsible for running the Earth is: it's you. It's each and every one of us.

The question is: What have you done to improve our chances of saving the Earth and improving the lives of your fellow humans?

I think you will be disappointed to find out that Al Gore is not in attendance.

Sorry to burst your bubble.

I really doubt Al Gore is going to see this and respond to it.

Mr. Gore is not available at this time. He is flying his jet around telling people to conserve fossil fuels.
