We recently received the first of a set of FHE ideas based on Provident Living and Emergency Planning. This is a topic that can be shared with non-members. If we use a portion of this once a month, it will be a reoccurring theme through the year. I'm sure the web site has a lot on this topic.

It depends on the ages and size of your family...but you know there are lots of really good books you can get from most LDS bookstores that just have tons of family home evening ideas.
Maybe this time of year would be a good time to go caroling or look at Christmas lights together.
