My Grandma works cleaning on a college school. When they graduate my grandma picks up the things she finds like pencils, sticky notes, notebooks, etc, and those things are not even used. Their brand new. My grandma gives these things to my uncle and he doesent's even use them. He only buys things from the store. Why does he buy from the store instead grabing it for free, and their brand new.

Have you ever heard of the word cheating.
There are laws, even reguarding toilet paper bought with tax dollars. I know. Sad part there is seldom the instructions to dispose of the surplus without steping on other laws.
But Uncle BOB should just drop the JUNK off at the local food bank or homeless shelter. Or maybe Granny can give the school supplies to the elementry school or WIC etc.

Could just be the way he was raised or how he feels about material things. Some people do not like to take or use anything that is preceived as "used". I know people who are that way about cloths. They will absolutely not wear any type of clothes (dresses, shoes, pants, etc) given to them unless (1) it is new with a tag on it, or (2), they buy it themselves.

It is a bit confusing why he does not take them. It is probably pride because your Grandmother took somebody's leftovers and he is ashamed of it. He does not want handouts and feels better about himself when he can purchase the materials for himself. Maybe you should use the materials your Grandmother gets each year for school or somebody else in your family.

He probably has a strong sense of pride. Some people do not like taking things without paying for them. Maybe your grandparents are insulting him by giving him things that he can acquire on his own.

He probably feels uncomfortable using the things others have thrown away and just wants to choose his own things.

i don't know, maybe if you need them and could use them, you could ask your grandma or uncle if you could have some of the things.
