I'm 23 and really would like to get braces. How do I find a good orthodontist if I don't really know anyone with braces?

I would start by asking your Dentist for some referrals, also call the American Dental Association and ask them for referrals.

If you are still going to your dentist for a 6 month check up . The will have to make you that orthodontist appointment for you . Or if you dont go to the dentist any more . You will just have to go in and get them to have a look at them .(a check up)

Go to your regular doctor and ask him/her if they know any good orthodontists in the area.

Call some in the phone book and then ask them questions. go with the one you feel most comfortable with.
