Hey Hey Hey, Stop that crapola,

God did not create us to serve and glorify him. Only a lousy close-minded parent would want his child or children to worship or glorify him.

I realize you were being sarcastic. But, I hope you stop quoting the Bubba Preachers definition of God. Someone might actually believe that crap. - just kidding.

Why in the world should anyone, with an open-mind, think that an entity, any entity, that is able to come here from outside this solar system could have survived on their home planet, if they still had our evolutionarily immature attitudes about servitude and glory.

If a planet continues very long with those criminal tendencies it will (or it would) eventually destroy itself.

Specifically, it would self destruct before it was able to make a trans universal journey.

Think about your own marriage. While you were at peace with each other, you were able to do about anything conceivable. Once you got into a power struggle, you both were headed for self destruction.

Same with a planet.

enough said.

You don't understand the concept of eternal damnation. God does not want anyone to go to hell. In the Bible it says (in the book of James) that God wishes that all be saved. The Bible also tell us that by rejecting him, people are damned through their own doings. God is not responsible for sending people to hell, people are responsible for this themselves

Too many people think hell is a location, like deep in the bowels of the earth. Or they think of Dante's inferno from the middle ages. In reality, hell is a state of being, or condition that our soul is in. When we die we are in the presence of God. What is that like? Well the Bible describes God's presence as a consuming fire. The angels that surround the throne of God are called Seraphs (meaning flaming ones).

So God loves everyone and wants everyone to be saved. When we die we are in His presence. So those souls that are prepared for God's presence find His consuming love (fire) to be quite comfortable. However those souls that are not prepared cannot stand God's love. They try to go as far away as possible, and find some dark, cold place... but there is no where to go, no place is far enough. For these the consuming fire's of God's divine love, is too much. You next question should be, "how can anyone be good enough to enter God's presence?"

I still dont understand why did He created us. Sometimes I think that if the only reason is to serve and glorify him then he is not so good and benevolent, it's like creating something to get fun. I guess He said "well I'm bored let's create people and make them go through sufferings and joys, death and life, and at the end i'll pick who will have heaven and who'll go to hell" there cant be another reason. If there is I hope to find the answer before death.

So the big question here is "why are we here?"

That is a really interesting question. I don't think there is a really good answer to that one. I can only really take a guess at God's intentions. I don't think that he intended it to be a "love me or go to hell thing". I think God was lonely and wanted people to love him because they wanted to not because it was their job, like the Angel's. I don't know why their had to be a tree of Knowledge. Again I can guess that their were some things that we just don't know about. Something like that. To be honest I don't feel really conflicted about it. I can see why non Christians and even probably a lot of Christians might. I feel like God love's me and wants me to be in heaven with him. I have security in my life about that so I don't feel like I am being forced to love him. I mean when you don't love your parents when your a kid just because without them you will starve and live on the street. You love them because they love you. I don't know that is how I look at it as flaky as it might sound.

I would also speculate that the "fall of Lucifer" and the other angels happened after the creation or man and before the fall of man which may have been a cause for things to go awre.

I believe that we were created to be in a loving relationship with God and after we have seen the great love of God who was willing to die on a cross to save us from the horrible mess we are in we have a choice to continue heading in the direction we were going or choose to again being in relationship with God as we were created to be. Our choice to serve God is not made independent of what He has done for us in the past. Blessings

some would say no, but this is why many people have a problem with the christian, jewish, and muslim god. it feels like and could be considered slavery- coersion at the very least.
the anceient greeks felt their god who commanded worship were not kind deities but cruel beings (save for one or two sweet ones)

I personally don't think god would condemn someone to hell for not believeing/worshiping him. and I could never care for one that did. I also don't believe in the validity of the bible but I think if god ever said something along the line of 'worship or suffer for ever'- it was probally because some of the pagan god's worship practices were inhumane and unsafe.

I think people back then weren't enlightened enough to understand that logic, so god just said 'worship me or else'. like when a parent doesn't use logic with a small child, but rewards for good behavior and punish ments for bad behavior. Going along with the same metaphor, parents of young children also keep them away from anything and everything dangerous, until they get older and then they can make the right choice even among the presence (and pressure) of negitivity.

Uh...no. He's not threatening us. God wants us to enjoy Him and to have His life. We were created to contain God, or be vessels to contain Him. Like a glove is made for a hand. It won't work if you take a glove and put your foot in it. That's not what it was made for. So our purpose is to contain God and to receive His life.

God likes to give us a choice. [that's why Satan's not dead yet]. We can choose to follow Satan or God. Can't be in the middle; if you don't follow God, you are definitely following Satan-the devil by doing 'worldly' things. God doesn't force us to follow Him. But remember, Jesus died for our sins. John 3: 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that every one who believes into Him shall not perish, but shall have eternal life. Anyways, to answer your question, it's not slavery because we DO have a choice. Are you not making choices today? And about the lake of fire...yes whoever doesn't repent and believe into the Lord goes there. But think on the other side and point of view: How many chances has God given us? He sent His Son to die for our bad stuff, and loves us very much. If you actually experience His grace, mercy, and love, it is a wonderful feeling. [this isn't religious. I don't have a 'religion.' Because it's not a practice or ritual]

Well, hope you understand this concept! If you're interested, check out your local church- ex/ Church in Chicago, Church in Brecksville, etc. [I assure you there is one and we all believe in the same thing]. Good luck!

Haven't you ever done something to get a "reward" or something special at the end? That is basically what our life here is...we have choices we can make that will decide our eternal destiantion (by the way I don't beleive in "heaven" or "hell", I believe there are 3 kingdoms of glory we can attain to - Celestial, Terrestrial or Telestial...) I don't think it's necessarily God punishing us either...I think, with all that God has to offer us - which is essentially everything HE has, then why not do what he asks? Why not keep his commandments, do all the things necessary to return to live with him? Life here is going to be a blink of our eye compared to eternity so I don't care about "living it up" or whatever, just to have "fun" here and jeopardize living with my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and my family for eternity...
I beleive we all chose to be on this earth, every single person who has ever lived or will live made the choice to come to this earth. We cannot remember our pre-existance...that is part of the plan, it would be like taking a test with the answer key readily available. We still have to be "tested" and tried, then we will all earn our just rewards.

Pride in peoples heart does not like them to think about submission to God. He is the one that created us. He could just as well say you belong to me you have no free will. But God cares about us and seeks our well being and security. His thoughts about us are infinite and His love is too. This is why God does not desire that anyone go to hell, but that all come to repentance and be saved from eternal death.
If one doesn't believe in God, then this is no threat to him. We all have the same chance.

You must have the core belief and believe in that to ingest the whole works . There are contradictions through the writings and everyone has their own interpretations, There is no right answer. If you can explain to me why Louis Lane, Perry White or everyone else didn't know Clark Kent was superman, you can answer your own questions. It is all make-believe.
