I want to buy my 8 year old an iPod shuffle. But I dont know what music to put on it.?

I dont know if I should let him listen to rap or hiphop the edited versions. Is there ay music that is specifically for him? I think he will take good care of it, he takes care of his gameboy. Please send suggestions and links. THANX! He also likes Kids Bop

I also bought my 8 year old and iPod shuffle for Christmas. I would say anything they play on the radio he would like. My son likes Nickelback, Hinder, Fergie, Gwen Stefani.......

You could also buy a music card so he can download the music himself, might be more fun for him.

OK, just ignore the ppl saying to get him a bike or whatever, even though that probably is a good idea. Ipod shuffles are basically made for working out and other stuff because they're durable, so they go hand in hand. If he's into all of the songs in kids bop, just get the entire album off of Itunes (that's the only thing besides actual CDs that will work with Ipods). And about the censorship stuff, definitely don't let him get any songs that have language you don't like, even if there's an edited version, because he'll listen to the dirty version sometime and think it's alright. there's a new real rhapsody program that lets you listen to 15 songs a month, so you can 'test' the songs before you buy them for him. NO RAP OR HIPHOP. THAT IS JUNK MUSIC. IT IS NOT WORTH LISTENING TO AND IT HAS A BAD INFLUENCE ON KIDS EVEN THE "EDITED" SONGS. if you get a ipod of any kind you will have the itunes store. go on to that and search kids music and you will find tons. from soundtracks from his favroite movies to disney- kidsbands and every thing you can imagine. you can also try to get him into classical music. that is worth listening to. RAP IS JUNK AND BELONGS IN THE TRASH CAN, AS DOES HIPHOP.

I think that's a good idea I am also getting my 8 year old a mp3 player, he uses mine alot and takes care of it. I don't have a music suggestion we mostly listen to rock so I know little to nothing about rap.

If you can't think of any music to put on there, then it's probably not the right time to get hims a Shuffle. I'd wait til he was 11 or 12, that way he could pick what things he wants. 8 is too young for an iPod Shuffle I think, I'd recommend a CD player or something.

dude seriously dont buy an 8 year old kid an ipod shuffle its just not right unless hes a rich spoiled brat. If you buy him one now hes going to get bored of it really fast i would buy him computer games or something to keep him busy for a while. If you have enough money and dont know what to do with it then go ahead and buy him an ipod shuffle but dont say i didnt warn you.

i think he sound responsible for the job to have an ipod. i think he should have some hiphop i do not think there should be rap, i mean my parents raised us to listen to oldies and new bands but never rap and barley any hiphop but he likes kids bop you should download the songs on it. good luck =)

In my personal opinion, I don't think an iPod is an appropriate gift for an eight year old, but if you're determined to get him one, give him a chance to put on music in your car. Listen carefully to what station he picks, and determine the songs he likes.
