why don't you believe in God? I mean, it is the best country to live in, and the chances of being born in the USA are so slim, it is almost irrational to not believe in God.

Are you serious? So, I suppose you must think that God must be an American. Think about your logic here for a minute. You are born in the "best country" so there must be a God. What about the billions of people who live in other countries. Doesn't God care about them? Or here is a real kicker for you:
If God sees everything that happens, then he sat idly by as 1,871 women were raped yesterday in America (those are the real numbers). He watched every child who was beaten, and every woman who was battered in America today. I won't mention the starving, homeless and disease ridden Americans.
All those Americans are being so taken care of by their loving God. I can see your logic. You are clearly a scholar.

How on earth do you relate being born in the USA to believing in God? You are correct to say that this is the greatest country in the world. It really is. But, most places on this beautiful planet would make you wax poetically about a higher being. Anywhere in the world there are people who choose to believe in a Creator and people who do not for multiple, multiple reasons. I don't think that it has anything to do with where you were born. You either come to the conclusion that God exists or that He doesn't.

A youngster born within the US is a US citizen. If the youngster's mothers and fathers are from a nation that doesn't enable twin citizenship (comparable to Mexico or Japan) the youngster is banned from getting citizenship within the mothers and fathers nation (a few nations that ban twin citizenship now make an exception for instances like this). The mothers and fathers get no rights however the youngster can petition for a mothers and fathers inexperienced card after achieving the age of 21.

why people born here need or have to believe in god? are u saying by believing in god will automatically born in USA? what kinda of logics is that? USA is a free country and so is the belief of the religion and it should be kept that way.

In the USA we have the right to believe or not believe as we wish. That is the beauty of living in America. It has nothing to do with the fact of it being the best country to live in.

I do believe in God and thank Him for our great country, but I was born here because that's where my parents were at the time. There are believers all over the world and the number is growing especially in places like China and Iran. It's great!

Could be that many born in the US are living a life free of religious persecution after numerous lives of burning at the stake or hiding their beliefs from everyone else. Could be it's the freedom inherent in the USA that leads the nonreligious to be born here. It seems to me irrational to think one's birth location would dictate whether or not one possess the free will to believe what one shall.

Are you absolutely kidding me? I should believe in god b/c I was born in the USA? 6.5 billion people were NOT born here and the majority live in poverty... but b/c I was born here, god exists.
Holy crap what a load.
Plus, have you seen the stats lately? We are near the bottom of the list for 1st world countries in:
education
caring for our poor
health care access
And at the very top of the list for crime and murder per capita for 1st world countries.
And there are other countries that are freer. Please...

Because, regardless what right-wing fundamentaists want you to believe, this country was not founded on religious princliples. (SHOCK!)
The founders were humanists who believed in the principles of the enlightenment. Note that the word God does not appear anywhere in the constitution. Even the most religious among the founders were major proponents of separation of church and state. Not because they did not believe it their place to promote a religious agenda, but because they feared the establishment of a state religion, like they now have in Iran, which is slowly being established in Somalia, and which this administration has been been trying to establish in this country.
I know my contrarian response is not going to win me major points, but the truth must be heard over so much religious propaganda

It is BECAUSE a person is born in the USA, that he has the absolutely protected right to think and believe however he chooses. Freedom of religious belief is one of the rocks upon which the American Democracy is founded, and it is one of the reasons WHY America is the best country in the world to live. Nobody, but NOBODY has to right to order you to believe something you choose not to. Since this is a right and a freedom that you, yourself, enjoy, why would you wish to deny it to anybody else?
