I have no clue... I think it is silly myself... Let's whack this ball with this stick then go find the ball so we can whack it again and then gently hit it into a hole. THEN do it all over again.

For the same reasons that have been given the last 6000 times this question was asked here.

Different people enjoy different things. I like golf. I don't like skiing. That doesn't make golf superior to skiing, it doesn't mean that skiing sucks, it doesn't mean that people that ski are stupid. I could say, "Skiing is stupid, you ride to the top of a hill, go down the hill, then do it all over again.", but I don't.

If you are interested in golf, give it a try. Like it? Great! Buy some clubs and join the fun. Hate it? Sorry, keep looking `til you find something that you like.

You are very welcome to your opinion. It will help keep the courses free.

Realy though, it's a wonderful game where skill, strength, guile and endurance all come into play. You play in beautiful areas, much like any perfect park. I've stood on many a tee and thought, "My, this is perfect." Stand on the first tee at the Isle of Harris Golf Course in Scotland, looking down the fairway to the little green nestled in a tiny glen with the ocean breaking on the rocks below... wonderful.

If you ever tried it, you might change your mind...

Because it takes so much focus that it clears your mind of all the things you may be thinking about previously. It is like meditating and releases feel good chemicals when you make the shot.
It is a sport for the intelligent and maybe the high strung, high achievers who need to focus their minds to function.
Try it.

to be honest, i don't see why when there are droughts all over the world, and they must spend an awful lot of money on watering those massive greens!
