They have different sizes of sippy cups so don't worry about that. Give him his milk in the sippy and don't give him his bottle(unless he isn't getting anything for long periods) If you are unsure, measure the milk in the bottle and just pour it in the sippy cup. But remember after one they can have regular milk like we drink. They have different sippy cups that help the transition. All babies have their own way of doing things so be paitient. Also the more foods he eats he really needs the milk more for a drink not as a way of survival like it has been.

My son switched at 8 months on his own...and he also gave up the formula on his own ~ at 6 months...he didn't like the taste...Don't warm the milk anymore...and STOP giving him juice and water in the sippy and DON'T give him a bottle anymore...give him the sippy cup so he can see that it's the milk...make a big deal about him being a big boy and not using the bubba anymore...get him a sippy cup that has Blues Clues or something that he likes to watch! He's playing now...with it...but soon enough he will get thirsty enough to drink it...

Mine transitioned really quickly, even the one who fought it, by my using sippy cups during the day, then a bottle last thing at night for a while. Give him what he likes in his sippy cup - water, watered-down juice, milk in whatever temp he prefers. Also, I added ice cubes in juice and water just because the kids love the rattle in the cup. Keep in mind you don't get thrown out of the parent-of-the-month club for letting him hold on to the occasional bottle, but it is easier to do it early than later.

If your son is nearly a year old you shouldn't be warming his milk any more, (unless you are breastfeeding). Just keep giving him the cup and phase out the bottle. Just taking the bottle away all at once can be very upsetting for a child. Start using the sippy cup for part of his feedings and slowly replace every feeding with it. He will drink out of it, if there is no other option.

Keep encouraging him to use the sippy cup. I find it easier for my son to get used to the sippy cup with soft tips (so he can chew on a little to play with first.) You might want to try that. Eventually, he'll get used to having liquid come out from the hole.
If he still can't get it, you might want to introduce the cup with straw. I've seen some little ones start with this instead of sippy cup and they seem to be doing great.

Keep giving him his sippy cup. He will get used to it, and will drink out of it if he is thirsty enough. As far as warming the milk, I would at first, and then slowly lower the temp until he gets used to drinking it cold. Good luck!!!
