I work out at the gym everyday and I met this woman. We got to talking and I asked her out for dinner. She said yes and gave me her cell phone # and told me what time to call. I called and she didn't answer, so I left a message that I'd call back later. When I did her son answered and said she was in the shower. I called back later and she still didn't answer. I called back again later and left my phone # and she never called back. Why couldn't she just be honest and tell me that she wasn't interested in going out. I would have been cool with that. Instead I'm just offended. I'm going to see her at the gym and it's just going to be awkward. Why would she do that? I thought it was evil.

When you asked her out,she didnt wanna hurt you,so she was positive. She just avoided hurting you in face, but thought it was easier to cope by ignoring you later.

Some people have trouble saying no when something is asked from them. Could be she just didn't want to hurt your feelings or have to convince you that no means no, and not yes, like a lot of guys believe. It's hard to find a good way to turn someone down. It's not fun rejecting a man, and she is probably hoping you'll graciously accept this without cornering her and demanding an explanation, which I am sure you feel entitled to. You are right, she should have been honest with you in the first place, but c'mon, if you can find someone really good at the dating scene, you'd do us all a big favor by referring them to this web site!! Consider it a dating faux pas, and when you see her at the gym, show her you've taken it like a man, and maybe she'll wonder what she's missing out on. :)

That seems kind of rude of her, but if this happened recently, it's possible there's a good explanation, so I'd recommend not stewing over it too much.

If she did just flat out blow you off, then she definitely owes you an apology, but there's no reason you should feel awkward at the gym. Next time you see her, just give her a cool "hello" then put on your headphones and go on with your workout. If she wants to say she's sorry, she will, otherwise she deserves to be ignored.

Of course, other responders to your question might have a point: if you put her on the spot when you asked her out in the first place, she might not have been sure how to say no. Not that that justifies not picking up the phone, but it's a possibility to consider.

she sucks and she's not worth your time! you can do so much better so don't give up and think that all women are like that. Maybe if before you ask the next girl out right away, try to get to know her over the phone a little so you can make sure you don't end up getting stood up by a b****

Well I am sure after the seventh call you lost your shot, but yeah that sucks...I wish women would tell me why not instead of leading me on...hell get nasty with it, the brutally honest truth...being misled wont help us one bit...

She probably did it because after wards she probably didn't find you interesting anymore, and she couldn't tell you because she was afraid she would probably hurt your feelings.
