I am trying to help a friend who wants to compare the branches of Christianity. Can anyone tell me, or tell me where to find out, the difference between Baptist, Methodist, Assembly of God, and Jehovah's Witness faiths? I have a generalized idea of the differences, but would like more help in explaining this to her. Does anyone know of any sites that might help explain what each one stands for in terms of beliefs and practices? If not a single site for all of them, then a good site for each one to describe the fundamentals. Thank you.

Dont know of any sites per say. But I know ALOT about the Baptist religion, its practices, and general beliefs, and alot about Jehovahs Witnesses. You can email me if youd like.
If you do an independent search of each one of them, Im sure you'll get alot of info. Of course, you could search Wikipedia seperatly for each of them, and get a good general idea.

They are just different denominations. somewhere along the lines of christianity, people had different beleifs on the bible, so they formed their own thing, thus the denomination.
Some beleive jehova witnesses are not christian. Im not sure, and its just my place to judge...
i know JW dont beleive in hell, or life after death, for that matter. Im not sure if they beleive christ died on the cross or not...
Baptists believe in once saved, always saved.
Methodist is an OLD denomination. Its one of the first 3, which i beleive is pentecostal, methodist, and Baptists.
and assembly of god is basically a branch of pentecostal, though their beliefs are quite different. They are very contemporary as far as beliefs.
although I am not christian, my fav denomination was the AoG.
ur best bet for finding info directly from a site is wikipedia... they gather stuff from other sites, and put it all in a nut shell...

Jehovah's Witnesses are unique among self-described Christians in that they believe God's Kingdom to be a real government which will really solve mankind's problems here on earth.
Jehovah's Witnesses understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

The building they attend church in? To me there is no difference between one Sunday church and another, or between them and the Catholics. As far as I am conserned if you worship on Sunday you are a Catholic, whether or not you want to call yourself one or not makes no difference.

Baptist is the only one that is not an off-shoot of the Catholic church.
