Die Hard 3...You fill up the 5 and pour it into the 3 - that leaves you with two. Then you dump out the 3 gallon. Pour the 2 from the 5 into the 3. Then fill up the 5 and fill up the 3 (there is only 1 gallon left) leaving you with 4 gallons in the 5.

Fill the 3 gallon drum and pour it into the five gallon drum. Fill the 3 gallon drum up again and with it top off the 5 gallon drum leaving 1 gallon left in the 3 gallon drum, Emplty the 5 gallon drum and pour the 1 gallon (that it in the 3 gallon drum) into the 5 gallon drum. Fill the 3 gallon drum up and pour that into the 5 gallon drum and you then have 4 gallons in the 5 gallon drum.

simple,

1) fill the 3 gallons of water into the 5 gallon using the 3 gallon drum.

2) then fill the 3 gallon drum completely with water and pour it into the 5 gallon drum. you'll be left with 1 gallon in the 3 gallon drum ( because 6-5 =1 gallon).

3) then empty the 5 gallon and pour the 1 gallon from the 3 gallon drum into the 5 gallon.

4) then fill the 3 gallon drum completely ( =3 gallons) and pour it into the 5 gallon drum ( 1+3 = 4 gallons)

Hey,

you fill the 3 gallons drum, and u empty it in the 5 gallon drum. Then u fill the 3 gallons drum again, and u pour that in the 5 gallon drum. Now, the five gallon drum contains 5 gallons, and there's 1 gallon left in the 3 gallons drum. U completly empty the 5 gallon drum, pour the remaining 1 gallon from the 3 gallon drum to the empty 5 gallon drum. Finally u fill the 3 gallon drum, and u pour it in the 5 gallon drum. U now have 4 gallons in ur 5 gallon drum.
