I had my TV and digi box disconnected for about 2 month due to building work and when reconnected got this problem... it says there is a technical fault with this channel or there is no satellite signal which I dont understand as half the channels are working ok.The dish and wiring has,nt been altered and the digi box and tele has been carefully stored. Can anybody please suggest a cause for this problem please

Given that you've checked all your connections, checked your dish alignment and LNB skew, then your LNB is probably going bad. Replace it and you should be fine.
Voltage from your receiver triggers your LNB to choose vertical or horizontal polarization. Sometimes when an LNB goes bad, you lose one polarization or the other. For example, QVC UK is on a transponder using horizontal polarization. Sky News UK is on a transponder using vertical polarization. BBC One London is Horizontal, BBC One West Midlands is Vertical. If you've lost Sky News UK and BBC One West Midlands, then you know your not picking up the vertical transponders anymore. If you've lost BBC One London and QVC UK then you know you've lost the horizontal transponders.

at last, someone with the same problem as me!!! it has been going on for a few weeks, half say "no satelite signal" and the other half is fine, and sometimes the programme will go off for a few minutes saying the same thing and then come back on again, a few music channels i cant get at all, but it usually happens inbetween 5 and 8 at night, is it a regional thing? i live in the south east

I have the same problem although I havent had any building work done or anyone handling my dish or wires.

I just fiddle with the scart and various other leads and it normally fixes things, if you continue not to get these channels you should call them up because your paying and not gettting a full service.
