Media player and you should already have it. Doubleclick on the icon of the file to see what opens it.

Windows Media Player is already installed in your computer. Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment. Quick Time and Real Player are free programs with advertising. I would stick with Windows Media Player. Just clicking on the avi should by default launch Widows Media Player. Best of luck.

VLC plays my .avi files. go to downloads.com and type in vlc...good luck..it also plays ALOT of other formats

mediaplayer classic is the perfect participant I really have ever seen..... it has thoughts to lag/lead the video to synchronize with sound (in some video clips you need to word that they don't look to be synchronized nicely) to receive and reveal sub-titles...
