Do you feed him to get him to go to sleep? If so stop. If babies who are nursed or bottle fed to sleep, wake up in the middle of the night, they need to eat again to go back to sleep. Try reading the Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg. It saved my sanity with my two kids.

I really don't have a great answer for you, maybe a little advice. I have had 4 children, none of them had the same schedule. My oldest got up every night till she was over a year old. My 4 year old still gets up on occasion. Try to nap when he does, don't jump up and get him wait a few minutes, sometimes they will go back to sleep on their own. A warm bath (try lavendar soap) before bed, a full tummy and that is all you can do at this point. Best of luck and sweet dreams.
