There was actually a study done by Purdue University on this topic and if I could get into my hotmail account I could provide all of the precise information, at work and for some reason it is blocked. I think it was around 244 and 327 from the robotic tongue, more because it did not have the saliva.

I tried this once and it took close to 350 licks if I remember correctly. Of course it would vary from person to person depending on licking style (basically the amount of surface contact between tongue and pop on each lick) and the amount of saliva produced which can vary from one individual to the next.

The little ones (like Dum Dum sized) take somewhere close to 40.
While the regular sized ones take close to 800.

well I tried that when I was little. I don't remember how it went. but it probably depend on how big the person's tongue is I guess. If they had a bigger tongue then it would take less time! lol
