It seems that a majority of Christians are often against these ideas. Would these discoveries somehow prove Jesus was not God?

If "nothing will disprove Christianity," why do you think Christians are opposed to the Theory of Evolution?

A "Theory" is not a guess...Plate Tectonics is a theory...Global Climate Change is a theory...But we accept them as true right? Why not Evolution?

As Stephen Jay Gould explained that "evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts do not go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's, but apples did not suspend themselves in mid-air, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape-like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
Why are Christians standing refuting scientific discoveries?

No, I'm not against any of the above.
And no, I don't think any of them would disprove Christianity.

A great evolutionist once said that life can only come from already existing life. The original source of all things is God. Christianity recognises this and nothing can disprove it because unlike the big bang, it is not a theory.
Even charles Darwin was not so sure of his evolution theory. If man was descended from apes how come there are still so many apes here in Africa? Why have they not yet evolved after many millions of years?
Got an answer to that? Of cause it doesn't seem to disprove evolution it only points to the fact that if evolution occurs it is caused by God.

I agree That Jesus was Not God, But he was the only begotten Son of God, I have no poblem about the big bang, & I have no big problem to a certain point about evolution, There is a maggot that turns into a fly & a egg turns into a bird. But Never was there man or woman that evolved from slimmy pond somewhere Or an ape or monkey, No Science will ever prove that, But all thee questions & answers Are right in the bible, if people can see & read it correctly, And That Is what sceincetist don't want people to know.

you receive all of it incorrect, Bubba! Atheists do not attempt to disprove faith with the great Bang and Evolution. it truly is fundamentalist Christians who attempt to discredit the great Bang and Evolution with the Bible. we are only telling it like it truly is. yet after we are confronted with a obdurate fundamentalist who's only too dense to seize on to truth, often times we'd want to get slightly assertive. it received't be taken as a mirrored image on those Christians who do not ignore that "interpreting God's works" is exactly what scientists do.

As to aliens, the Bible really doesn't say. According to Drake's equation, I personally believe that if they were out there, we would have had undeniable proof that ANYONE could "tune" into by now.
As to the "Big Bang". Actually, the more accurate scientific term is called: "First moment" referring to the moment when all four forces of nature were combined in a single equation relatable force. "Big bang" has fallen out of favor in the scientific community as a term to be used. And I feel the First moment, or the Grand Unified Field theory supports the Bible, it does not contradict it.
As to evolution, I tend to agree with the thoughts of Professor Michael Behe. It is not called the scientific law of evolution. It is called the theory of evolution for very mathematical and biological reasons. it is only a theory.

Nothing, nata, nil, zero, will disprove Christ.
Including water on Mars.
The introduction to Genesis and to the whole Bible ascribes everything to the living God, creating, making, acting, moving, and speaking. There is no room for evolution without a flat denial of Divine revelation. One must be true the other false. All of God’s works are good, great, wondrous, and perfect.
Man starts from nothing. He begins in helplessness, ignorance, and inexperience. All his works, therefore, proceed on the principle of evolution. This principle is only seen in human affairs: from the hut to the palace; from the canoe to the ocean liner; from the spade to the plowshare to machines. But the birds build their nests today as at the beginning. There is growth and development within man, but no passing, change, or evolution out from one into another.
For this theory or fallacy of evolution to be true there would be evident stages of evolution today. You would be able to find species in many stages of evolution in nature right now. For this theory or fallacy of evolution to be true there would be no God. And that’s exactly what evolutionists believe and are trying prove. The evolutionist bases his or her conclusions on human assumptions and reasoning, instead of on the documentary evidence of the manuscripts.

god created the heavens and the earth it could have been the big bang.creatures crawled out of the sea and walked on dry land that's in the bible.god and the angles are in heaven that makes them aliens.man and woman was created at the same time on the first creation that's prehistoric man.man was created in gods image and woman was made from his rib.that is second creation of man and a female was cloned from a male, this is what i think, this is modern man and woman.i do`nt care what the experts say, what makes them correct anyway .my belief makes more sense.

Nothing will disprove Christianity. Why do you think it has lasted so long? Don't hold your breath, Aliens, Big Bang, or Evolution are just theories.

If you believe in the "Big Bang" I think you ought to understand the coming of the "Big Burn".
"But the Day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, and the earth also and the works therein shall be burned up..." II Peter3:10
