why do you accept homosexuality and reject pedophilia when both say they were born that way?

Pedophiles say they were born that way, they like children and they say its not their fault. Why do you accept this argument from homosexuals but no pedophiles.

Before you tell me the 'consenting adults blah blah blah', shouldnt you accept someone who says they like children but will not act upon their urges? If they say they will not act upon their urges why dont you accept them, and say they were just born this way.

100 years ago both acts (homosexuality and pedophilia) were considered abominations. People accept one now, will they soon accept the other?

Homosexuals do not harm anyone.

Pedophiles do.

Homosexuality is about loving someone of the same gender.

Pedophilia is about harming and having control over a child.

There is no comparison.

Consenting adults is the only difference. Look, the definition of pedophile is a person who is stimulated by pre-pubescent children. The child doesn't have a sex drive to speak of and hence could knot give informed consent to anything of a sexual nature. It's that simple.

Check out the video The Woodsman some time it's a captivating look into the 'thinking' of a pedophile. It's really hard to watch at times but ultimately you get the impression that he hates it too. Like an alcoholic who hates his disease and hates himself for having it.

As to the fashion of homosexuality, that varies from time to time and place to place. I don't think it's really all that well accepted in America still, just look at how many states are trying to bend over backwards to put in a definition of marriage that excludes gays (as if the gays were beating down the doors to get married).

This is a tough question...100 years ago, it was common for a girl to be married at 14 or 15 years old. As times change, so do the mores. In ancient Greece, Homosexuality was accepted, as was having sex with girl children. Seems like no matter how much times change, the more they stay the same. As far as acceptance, I don't see it happening any time soon.

I concede the point that there is truly a huge difference between 2 adults consenting to have sex with one yet another and a toddler being compelled into sex hostile to their will or information. although the question replaced into about how both homosexuals and pedophiles say a similar element, that they are born that way. maximum those who've replied this question have obviously revealed how they experience about both homosexuality and pedophilia, yet have not addressed the question. Is it not plausible to that you'll grant a accurate away answer to a valid question only by way of the undeniable fact that is obvious that you disagree with the poster on the issue of homosexuality?

You make some excellent points. I was born into the age with Ellen open and proud, and Will and Grace having fun and showing everyone the 'normality' of homosexuality. I have worked with some excellent people who I adore who are openly gay. It is a part of society now, in my generation- however, my grandparents continue to say how 'un-natural' it is, and they continue to say how all gay people will burn in hell.
I am religious and all I have to say is "to each his own." I am not going to point fingers and say who is going where.
As for Pedophiles- I think they are in a class by themselves, far away from homosexuality. Children should not be abused. They should be protected and loved not fondled in a sexual nature to please an adult. Why are they so differant? A child knows nothing about their sexuality, and most victims are mentally manipulated and told that they are doing the normal and right thing, or that all children do it. It is so evil it makes we want to throw up. If Pedophiles are born that way- I say to lock them away the second they Act upon their urges. They are obviously not out to marry the girls they molest, they are only out to indulge in sick needs and fantasies for their Own Pleasure.

Good question. That slippery slope may very well lead us to consider polygamy and even bestiality acceptable one day. After all, if right and wrong are subjective judgments, as some claim, where can the line finally be drawn, and who can draw it? Can any line be drawn at all? Yet we know from the lessons of history that we must draw the line--and hold it--because the culture or society that loses its sense of moral discipline soon falls.

Interesting argument, especially considering that Mary had Jesus when she was about 12-13 years old. "Age of consent" is a legal fiction that can be swept aside as easily as the old laws against sodomy.
People instinctively know this type of behavior is wrong, but when our society is as screwed up as ours is, we can no longer give rational reasons for our beliefs.

I believe some where in the bible, it says woe to persons that say right is wrong and wrong is right. Persons in these days or the last days are going to be lovers of pleasure and of themselves. So however or whatever way they will pursue any means to justify their actions. Regarding being born with those tendencies, It is still unacceptable to justify those behaviors in Gods eyes. We are all imperfect, and the challenge is our own individual challenge. no excuses.
