Once you have the knowledge what God requires of you then you need to suppress those feelings that are or can lead you to dis-obedience to his statues mentioned in the bible. So it is a mental and physical training we are to work on. Improper feeling what i believe you are talking about, when we train ourselves according to the bible standards we can have a better life emotionally and physically.

1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
You know the difference between right and wrong. Behave yourself. God sees everything we do in life. Noting is hidden from Hm. Not even our thoughts.
Example...
You see an expensive piece of jewerly in front of you. It's not yours. It belongs to someone else. A store perhaps. You have the phsyical ability to take it. But just because you are phsyically capable of taking something that does not belong to you, does not mean that you are supposed to take it. It wasn't yours.
You already know before you took what was not yours, that it was wrong. To resist doing what is wrong and training yourself to do only what is right in the eyese of God, strengthens you and your spirit. God will bless you for liviing a righteous life, and being obedient to Him and His word. You can serve only one God, and not God and satan. If you are doing what is right, you are being obedient to God, and serving Him. If you are doing what is wrong, you are serving satan. You cannot be on the spritiual fence.

God doesn't punish you for questioning undesirable thoughts, He punishes you for doing undesirable issues. i'm no longer confident what the Bible says in case you withstand undesirable thoughts, yet I do kno that God will sense free in case you attempt to He loves you very a lot. I became hoping I helped perchance slightly... =)

You are convinced that it is god that gave you emotions, and does the punishment, then?
It all starts to make sense once you realise there is no such thing.

well, the whole idea behind religion is control and conformity. thought leads to action and any action that violates the social/religious rules can not be tolerated. punishment or the threat thereof simply insures conformity and the continuation and security of the hierarchical order.

Actions are by intentions, first we have to make the intention to do something, most of us have common sense to think before we act and we know when its right or wrong, because we have a feeling of guilt when we do something wrong. Our creator gives us these feelings for a reason. We should use them for our own benefit,or interest.Sometimes we act before we think.

It's not enough for this God to tell you what religion to follow or roast in hell forever. This God is such a control freak that he will even tell you what thoughts you can and can not have.
So much for God giving us freewill!
I guess that is just another Christian lie!

God created man to serve Him, meaning that men should believe in the one God and do good. This is the object of human life. God says: "I have not created men except that they should serve me." (Quran 51:56).
God created man superior to any other living creatures. He says: "We have created man in the best make." (95:4). This superiority gives man the ability to progress both materially and spiritually. The material progress he makes will benefit him in this world, while his spiritual progress will benefit him both in this world and in the Hereafter.
Thus since all human beings will die, the ultimate goal of life in this world is the eventual meeting with the Creator in the hereafter. What one has to do is to believe in God and follow his commands in doing righteousness. God says, "Whoever expects to meet his Lord, let him work righteousness, and in the worship of his Lord, admit no one as partner." (18:110)
This life is a preparation for the hereafter, the "eternal home", to which all human beings ultimately go. As such, Muslims are required to observe righteousness in their daily lives, based on Quranic teachings, like eating halal food, wearing modest clothing, performing prayers, giving alms, etc., because of the fact that they live for God alone. And to those who strive to attain nearness to Him, God sees to it. He says: "O Thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on toward thy Lord - painfully toiling - but thou shall meet him." (84:6)

We don't get punished for our thoughts. We can't help what we think sometimes. However, we can keep from acting on our thoughts.
