Never say a bad word against sex and the city again, I don't think its a decline in morals, its just our morals have changed. If you don't like whats on tv, dont watch it, u can't control what people like or watch.

While I must agree, you are putting too much responsibility on the parents. We always want to hold the parents accountable for everything concerning our children. The only way we can do that is if we lock them up in the attic and never let them out. Then we will be wrong for that too. My point, I never allowed music in my house nor my car that contained adult/explicit language. I was cleaning my daughters room and found hidden in the bottom of her closet an uncut 3-6Mafia cd. She apparently got it from one of her friends. When she got home I "Tore da club up" alright. But I refuse to believe that was the last time she disobeyed me on that. She was just more careful not to get caught. We can't be with our children all day everyday because we have to work and things like that. Which means they have to go to school, the sitters and other places where they may be exposed to things. WE NEED SOCIETY TO GIVE US A BREAK AND HELP US OUT OKAY! We always feel like we should be able to do what we want to do when we want to do it and the government should not interfere or have any control over it. But when the end result is something bad who get the blame. It's like playing a video game where the higher the level you are on, the harder the challenges become.

Believe it or not...but there are a lot of people out there with class and morals.
Starting with most people over 40 who can tell right from wrong.
What I find hilarious is that we have a generation of kids who protest against everything one day...and the next day they support the most outrageous things. There is no balance and no consistency. They don't believe in anything and don't support anything. They want to change everything...but don't have a freaking clue about what they are talking about.
In the old days...life was simpler.
You listened and obeyed your elders who were and still are wiser than you.
Then when you got older... you took your turn at telling younger people what to do.
Today...inexperienced 20 year old want to tell 50 years old how to live their life. This is nuts and hilarious.
And to quote your television example...there is a lot of hypocrisy in this world. Sex in the city is no worse than desperate housewifes. And there is nothing wrong with sex anyway. That's what makes the world go around.
Violence is another story...and is not permitted in our society. If it is against the law... it would be ridiculous to have it in a cartoon watched by impressionable young kids.
Bad enough that it is in every video games.
But like I say...there is no consistency. I saw a movie this week "Crash" with Holly Hunter. It was one of the most sickening films that I have seen. I asked the question about it here and the few people who answered thought it was a great movie. You cannot have any moral values when you like a movie like "Crash".

What a subjective question based on anecdotal evidence. To infer that "No-one" has class or morals based on the prevalence of a few tv shows you don't like? Do you mean morality or sexual morality? Because a lot of people in this country are extremely moral in your lives, and class is a term open to debate. It is also my personal opinion that what consenting adults do sexually is their own business. To me morality is caring what happens to people other than yourself.
Now if you got into the science of how we are influenced subtlely by environmental cues, then you might have a point. However, in that case, the point is supported by curtailing violence viewed by young people, not by banning sexually explicit shows intended for adults.
Try not to generalize when you ask a question- it makes you sound like you yourself have no class, and are spouting someone else's views.
In general, our media is a reflection of what we want, but tv also caters to the lowest common denominator. It has to- that is what keeps its audience coming back. "Sex and the City" is actually a show enjoyed more by those of the wealthier middle class. What you will find is very little non-stereotypical depiction of working class in popular tv. To judge the morals of Americans in general based on our popular tv is ridiculous- did you know that in 3rd world countries the idea of the "typical American" is defined by shows such as "Dynasty"? How "real" is that?

Society is not the one to look at, look at the people who make up the society and make the judgement. Parents are not to blame because they are restrained by laws, look at the laws, who do the laws protect...the innocent? Not any more. Why? There's the problem....why? Because the laws are not made by the people anymore...therefore to repair the damage done society must again take control over how the laws are made so that power is again restored to the people....are we not a democracy? Change it ourselves....through proper use of the systems in place....get rid of the corruption in the seats of power and install the people there who will respond to the people....one way would be to have politicians required to speak at open forums on the street rather than on tv....direct responses to direct questions regarding the peoples own needs.....then those politicians will have to respond personally to their constituents face to face....you'll then see change for the better....while they are separated by tv from the poulation they can virtually do as they please....which they do.

Well, in my opinion, the decline of society began when FDR instituted his social programs that turned us into a welfare state. Instead of people depending on one another, family, and the church to help them help themselves, people now turn to the government for every little thing. People are no longer self sufficient, and everyone seems to think that the world owes them something. It's sad, really. And the only way to overcome this is to abolish welfare and seriously downsize our government. Oh, and of course, parents do need to realize that they are parents with the rights and responsibilities that implies. Too many parents are obsessed with acquiring material possessions instead of having the proper concern for their children. I'd rather drive a beater and live in a small home and raise my kids myself than drive a big gas guzzling SUV and abandon them at the daycare all the time. If you choose to have children, raise them yourself!

Morals are a much off places theory in on the instant's wicked society. Christian values have been replaced with satanic "values" as quickly as you're taking God out of your existence, you narrow back your self to a trifling animal. A "monkey with a bigger concepts" because of the fact the atheists declare they are. the only "fee" that concerns on the instant is instant gratification. Society is on an expressway right away to Hell.

Because the people we used to look up to and emulate are no longer around. Parents used to teach kids manners and right from wrong, punctuated by an as* whipping. Not anymore, sad to say.
