My cat had that and the vet said if you don't bring them in right away it can get real bad. Its a cold, and they need medicine to get rid of it, take her in!

If the snot is clear it indicates a viral infection. If the snot is colored the infection is bacterial - and a vet should give you antibiotic for that.

It's always best to run the cat by the vet (not really run!) to have these things checked out. A bacterial infection can indeed lead to pneumonia and even get to the brain. That is easily taken care of with anitbiotic. There is no medication for viral infections and supportive measures can be taken if the cat stops eating (because it can't smell its food) or the nasal passages get so plugged that breathing is seriously compromised.

I don't think there's all that much you can get that will get rid of the symptoms, I'm sure I read that they got rid of alot of the cold remedies for babies. If it sounds like a phlegmy cough try this: Place her on her belly across your lap, and put a blanket over her back for cushioning. Start patting her back on each side round about where her lungs are, this should help shift the mucus. Don't do it really lightly, but obviously not too hard either. My mum was shown to do this when my brother was a baby in hospital with asthma/collapsed lung. It worked to shift mucus from my son's chest too. For her bunged up nose, run the bath/shower and take her into the bathroom, the steam will help clear her airways. *** PS Definitely NO honey for a 5mo baby! Or alcohol either, but I can't imagine you'd try that!

Yeah, best to get a vet to take a look. Probably just a cold, but if it's continuing for a long time, it could be more serious.

Get the cat to the vet. He might have a cold, allergies or even a serious disease. He needs to be seen by a vet.

please see your vet with the kitten, because if that goes on, that cat will die.
I had a cat and he had it too and he died, the desease went to the brain and I had to put the cat to sleep...well it wasn't really my cat.
It was one of the many cat's that are stray's and my friend and I trapped them to get them spayed and nutered.
But this cat was so lovable and friendly...so please...see the vet as soon as you can.
It is also contagious, you have to let the vet check all of your cat's just to make sure they are okay.
