I was just in the hospital in Toronto, Ontario less then 3 months ago. Price for semi-private per day was $200. Uncertain of cost of x-rays as was not charged for this. Wards are free for Canadian citizens but semi-private and private rooms cost you and/or your insurance additional monies per day.

It will depend on the province, and why you are in the hospital. I would contact the hospital directly to ask.

The people who are saying it is free are wrong. It is only free if you live in the country and are covered by the provincial health care. For emergency services they will treat you first, and worry about payment later.

Nothing, Canada has a free health care system in place.
