You can use q-tips, but they aren't that effecient in getting water out of the ears.
I would try to use some rubbing alcohol. That seems to absorb up the water. When I was in summer camp many years ago, they would always put drops of rubbing alcohol in our ears after swimming to avoid getting ear infections due to water in the ears.
I would also try to contact a nearby walk in clinic - they know the best answer. They may have you come in to get your ears flushed out. I have had this done many times. All they do is take rubbing alcohol, peroxide, hot water and a blue ear syringe and put the syringe in your ear and the mixture will knock out any wax, extra water in the ears. It doesn't hurt.
I hope that this helps!

Use a product called Swimmers Ear, or gently put a q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol in your ear. The alcohol evaporates and helps get rid of the water.

The best way I have found is to tilt the ear the water is in down and shake your head up and down, the water usually clears after several good shakes.

There are over the counter products to dry water in your ears, one is called Auro-Dri, you just put a few drops in your ears and it will dry them. There are also equivalent store brands.

lie down on the floor with the water filled ear against the ground, then with your hand cupped over your ear slowly move your head from side to side and up and down, only small movements, the water should soon trickle out, some times takes up to ten mins.
